My name is Gheorghe Dorin Tuca and I am a violinist, currently in my 1st year of the Postgraduate Masters degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, studying with the leader of the BBC Philharmonic, Yuri Torchinsky. CRB REGISTERED, experienced violin teacher In 2003, at the age of 16, I was awarded full scholarship to study at the Purcell School in London. I studied there for two years with Evgeny Grach (former leader of the LSO) and Maciej Rakowski. In 2005, I was awarded full scholarship once more to study at the RNCM on the BMUS undergraduate degree and in 2009 which I completed with 1st class honours. Since, I have given many concerts and recitals as a soloist and chamber musician with groups from Pro Corda, VaCO and with The Roberts Quartet which performed extensively in England, Ireland and Wales. As an orchestral player, I led the Purcell School Orchestras on a number of occasions. In the past 3 years I have also led many of the RNCM’s Orchestras including Symphony, Chamber and Concert orchestras. Outside music college, I have been invited on numerous occasions to lead orchestras such as the Mowbray ensemble and the St Cecilia orchestra. Most recently, in April, I was invited to teach on the Easter Pro Corda course in Suffolk where I was employed coaching quartets of children, conducting the orchestra, performing and leading group discussions
